About InterLibrary Loan
InterLibrary loan (ILL) privileges are available for Wesley students, faculty, and staff. The Library will attempt to borrow materials that the Library does not own from another library. The borrower may have to pay any charges that the lending library levies. Library users without access to ILL are are encouraged to inquire at their home institution's library or at a public library.
When an ILL item is available, it must be picked up at (and returned to) the Wesley Theological Seminary Library. We cannot mail items to you.
Please note that Interlibrary loan requests can take ten to fourteen days to be fulfilled. Interlibrary loan services may be limited during holiday and summer vacations.
How to Request Items through InterLibrary Loan
To request a title via InterLibrary Loan, first identify the specific item you are looking for (through a citation, bibliographic search, etc.). The more information you know, the better, including:
- author
- title
- publisher
- year of publication
You can use WorldCat, an international network of library content and services to find items (use the WorldCat tab, above). If you are on-campus, you can also use WorldCat to request the item via InterLibrary Loan. If you are off-campus, you will need to submit a form. See below for details.
On-Campus Requests
If you are on-campus, use the WorldCat tab (above) to access WorldCat. On-campus connections to WorldCat are already configured to process InterLibrary Loan requests. On the record page for each item, you will see the following:
You are connected to the WESLEY THEOL SEMINARY network
Beneath that, you will see a "Request Item" link. Please use that link to submit your request.
Off-Campus Requests
If you are off-campus, you can still locate an item through the WorldCat tab (above). However, you will not be connected to WorldCat via the Wesley network. To submit an InterLibrary Loan request while off-campus, please use the InterLibrary Loan Request Form (see the tab above).
