Eligibility for Services

The Library is pleased to extend borrowing privileges to qualified individuals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Special Researcher status is contingent upon approval by the Library Director and has a $75 annual fee. This fee is reduced to $25 for graduate students from seminaries and universities (other than American University or members of the Washington Theological Consortium, who already receive borrowing privileges).

Local clergy must provide documentation that they are currently authorized for ministry in the Washington, DC area. Local clergy status has a $25 annual fee, which is waived for United Methodist clergy.

All privileges must be renewed on an annual basis. Overdue fines or other factors may have an impact on eligibility for renewal.

Borrowing & Access Privileges

Special Researchers receive borrowing privileges and can check out resources from the Library's regular circulating collection.

   Book Loan Period:                   28 days
   A/V Loan Period:                      7 days
   Maximum Number of items:     25

Special Researchers are welcome to use our electronic resources while on-campus. However, due to licensing restrictions, off-campus access is restricted to Wesley students, staff, and faculty.
