About Special Researchers

The Library is pleased to extend borrowing privileges to qualified individuals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Note: If you are currently registered at one of our partner institutions (American University, or the libraries of the Washington Theological Consortium) or if you are not local clergy, you do not need to seek Special Researcher status. You are already eligible for borrowing privileges. 

Special Researcher status is contingent upon approval by the Library Director and has a $75 annual fee. 


Borrowing & Access Privileges

Special Researchers receive borrowing privileges and can check out resources from the Library's regular circulating collection. 

   Book Loan Period:                   28 days
   A/V Loan Period:                      7 days
   Maximum Number of items:    25

Special Researchers are not eligible for Inter-Library Loan (ILL) servuces.

Special Researchers are welcome to use our electronic resources while on-campus. However, due to licensing restrictions, they may not have off-campus access.
